Busy at the fairground!
At a fairground, crowds are directed to an important attraction: the World Show. Various types of Philips radios are shown there. Produced for the Italian market.

Trivia

Members of Geesink have featured the theme of Kermis in various ways in films. The most famous one is Kermesse Fantastique (1951) , but also Dutchy the Champion (1955) is a film that is well worth seeing. This film stands out in atmosphere and narrative. Unfortunately, not in a positive sense. While the aforementioned films manage to captivate the viewer with atmosphere in image and sound, World Show has become a cacophony of image and sound. Possibly it was assumed at the time that this hustle and bustle was suitable for Italian cinema audiences. The impression arises that this little story was put together by using existing sets and puppets to end up back with Philips radio sets. A pity, because it could have been more fun. Or was the Italian market actually sensitive to this? Possibly a tight budget and production time had been decisive for this approach. This film did not become a classic.

Loyal client

Client Philips has been a loyal client over all the years. Many short films were jointly conceived by Philips' director of advertising, Mr Sies Numann, who had a very friendly relationship with Joop Geesink. Not infrequently, both gentlemen could be found in a luxury restaurant where hearty food and drinks were served. It cannot be ruled out that an assignment Numann had received from Italy was fulfilled during such an informal occasion. The longer films received much more personal attention from both gentlemen.
