Story

Buy a woman with cocoa...? Comically, From Inca time to Blooker Time tells how the Inca Indians would have used cocoa in their culture. The story is fictional. For instance, the Incas are said to have used cocoa as currency. With it, they could even buy a woman, the film would have us believe. The film concludes with the information that this cocoa is now also available in the West, thanks to Blooker.

Trivia

This animated 3D film is not from Joop Geesink's Dollywood but from Marten Toonder's film studio. Every now and then, he produces a spatial animation film in addition to the famous comic strips and cartoons. Many of these spatial films were made by or under the direction of Han van Gelder. This young electronics graduate was soon roped into the film business. Prior to this production, Han van Gelder made the award-winning film Sunken Bells (1957); also in the ‘paperdoll’ technique. The paperdoll technique was introduced years later by Joop Geesink as a new style with The Traveling Tune (1962). Han van Gelder's name is no longer mentioned there.

Incas?

Despite the film having the name of Incas mentioned in the title, the narrative has nothing to do with the original Inca culture. At the time this film was made, the Inca culture was a virtually unknown culture to the intended film audience. This made the implausible storyline a little more acceptable; after all, people did not know the customs and could therefore let their imaginations run wild..

Walking

The paperdoll figures walk on very thin legs. To support the top-heavy bodies, the choice was made to replace the legs with transparent wheels on which the legs were painted. Optionally, an equally transparent support was used to keep the paper dolls from falling over.
