Content
Coffee beans arrive by ship from faraway lands. The beans appear to have a human character. A select few are given special treatment and become HAG coffee. We then see a terrace where two men are drinking coffee. One of them is clearly unwell and is shaking like a leaf. The other man explains that in that case, you should drink HAG coffee.
Coffee Country
This film was made for the Italian market. A country par excellence for plenty of coffee, and strong coffee at that. Italian espresso and cappuccino have conquered the world. Although no records of this film production have survived, it is easy to imagine that within this traditionally coffee-drinking market, it was difficult for decaf to gain a foothold.
The chosen theme is close to the end user: anyone who drinks a lot of strong coffee risks health problems. With the help of animation, these complaints can be grossly exaggerated. The public accepts this in animation.
