The famous Dutchy is lying on the beach, gazing at the sky, when he spots a plane flying overhead. This inspires him. He jumps into a waiting aeroplane and writes a message in the sky with smoke: Met Melk Meer Mans (With Milk More Man).

Trivia

In the 1950s, the Dutch Dairy Board spent a lot of money on puppet film productions to promote Dutch dairy products worldwide. Due to the text, it is clear that this film was aimed at the Dutch domestic market.

While almost all Dutch films were produced in beautiful Technicolor, this one is in black and white. It is also particularly short compared to the other productio

Smaller ...

Despite being deliberately made on a low budget, it's clear that at least three different aircraft were used in the film. In the scene where Dutchy jumps into the plane, a full-scale model is visible. In the close-up of him sitting in the plane and diving, only the left side of the aircraft is visible. To animate the plane in a controlled manner, an aircraft with the right wing removed was used to allow the installation of a tilting mechanism. The small plane flying past the smoke-made letters is a much smaller model, probably no larger than 10 cm. This keeps the background plate on which the text appears at a manageable size.

This website features another film of a similar quality and length (Dutchy-Magican and Dutchy -Boating).

Unfortunately, exact details are lacking, but it seems that these films were deliberately made quickly and cheaply. No further credits are available.
